During the debate on Nov. 28 2007 McCain rose to blast Ron Paul that his form of “isolationism” was the cause of the rise of Hitler. Directly blaming the U.S. for Hitler gaining power.

He was directly saying that if America had used interventionism against Germany then Hitler would not have gained the power he had. This is patently absurd. Hitler was a huge success to the German People in the early years of his rise to power. People had images of him in their homes with wreaths wrapped around to show their love for their leader. He wasn’t loved by all, to be sure, but he was not one that the majority of people wanted to oust from power.

What kind of troubles would America have caused if we were to entangle ourselves into the politics of Germany when so many Germans actually liked Hitler?

How can this politician blame America for the rise of one of the worst tyrants ever to gain power?

Why are people not rising up to speak out against this dangerous idea, that America should inject herself into the internal affairs of other Countries, spewing from McCain?

While Ron Paul’s position has always been one of non-interventionism. For those who should know better to get on stage in a National spotlight to say that his positions are isolationism is purely designed to confuse. But to continue on and say that Paul’s stance on Foreign Policy is what caused to rise of Hitler is yet more proof that McCain has lost his senses and would be dangerous to allow him access to the nuclear button, let alone be Commander In Chief of our military.

The point I am trying to make here is that a lot of people were saying that Ron Paul was blaming America for the attacks of 9/11. When he was actually saying what McCain meant to say, in that it was policy that led to both 9/11 and WW3.

If it were true, that Paul’s claim was that America was to blame for 9/11, then McCain’s assertion that Americas policy before WW2 led to the rise of Nazism is also blaming America.

Perhaps I wasn’t as clear in that as I should have been in the article.

I think there is a big difference in blaming America for the rise of Hitler, verses America’s allowing him to steamroll over Europe.

I’m assuming he meant the latter.
