CFR Candidate Thompson Continues Interventionist Rhetoric

As I wrote about a few days ago, CFR candidate Fred Thompson is a globalist who dreams of wars and getting involved in other countries’ internal affairs. It is obvious Thompson is running for the Presidency even though he has not registered as a candidate. There are no laws stating that he has to register to run as President. He is, nonetheless, running for the office.
Thompson, member of the elitist and dangerous Council on Foreign Relations, has been making the rounds spewing his ideals of an America that pushes it’s weight around and entangling itself into foreign controversies. His latest stunt was before the London Policy Exchange, a CFR-like “think tank” that espouses the neo-con agendas of interventionism and liberal democracy through the barrel of a gun (think playground bully). Continually voting to increase taxes and the size and scope of the Federal Government, his “conservative” credentials are spurious, to say the least.
In this latest speech Thompson says such wistful statements as “We must conclude that the greatest test of leadership – in your country or mine, in this time or any other – can be simply stated. We must shape events, and not be left at their mercy”. One can only hope that he doesn’t mean to create things to happen that would give reasons to go to wars.
Even in the face of the Iraq fiasco of failures, lies and deceit CFR candidate Thompson still wants people to think we did the right thing by attacking another country unprovoked - “Even in the midst of all the divisiveness with regard to our actions in Iraq, the United States, Great Britain and our coalition should be proud of what we have averted. Imagine Saddam Hussein and his murderous sons in power today successfully defying the international community and free to pursue weapons programs”. Thompson is seriously lacking in reality skills if he thinks it was a good thing to invade a country without a declaration of war, as our Constitution dictates. The failures of Iraq are known far and wide and he isn’t kidding anybody but himself.
CFR Thompson can never claim to hold the candle of liberty, since he never places the Constitution above all other laws. Even something as dire and important as going to a war that has killed more G.I.s than the attack on 9-11 had killed civilians, CFR Thompson still doesn’t grasp the ideals that made America the freeist and greatest Nation the world has ever known - accomplished through non-interventionism and free trade with all.
